Central Academy

High School Program

Preparing future Servant Leaders today.

Central Academy High School offers a challenging program of study for the college-bound student.   Although it is recognized that students may choose various post-high school paths (e.g., military service, mission work, immediate employment), the Academy is committed to preparing students for college.   Students who enroll must be committed to this level of academic performance.

Central Academy High School offers programs of study in English, social studies, science, mathematics and foreign language.  Honors courses are offered beginning in 10th grade.   Central to the academic program are two co-curricular programs, college readiness and service learning.

The goal of the academic program is to equip students with knowledge, skills and abilities from a biblical perspective, permitting them access to the colleges/universities of their choice.   In addition, this sound academic foundation will position each student to make a profound impact on our culture for Christ.

Spiritual Development

Goals:

To integrate the Word of God into every aspect of academic life

To lead each student into a personal relationship with Christ

To equip students with the skills and confidence to defend the Christian faith

To develop servant leaders

Bible Courses

Students will learn the value of biblical study, both from a historical perspective and present day application.   They will pursue an active relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ personally and corporately, understanding that all nations will ultimately worship God (Psalm 22:27,28).   Students will learn that God wants all people to know His thoughts (Hebrews 1:1,2) which He reveals through study of His word.

The curriculum topics and sequencing are below under Course Offerings.

Service Learning

Central Academy is one of the few high schools in the state that aspires to take the service learning approach to community involvement.   Service Learning involves an intentional coordination of academic learning and service in the community.   It represents an experiential educational method that involves students in activities that meet community and human needs within a structured learning environment.

One of the foundational scriptures for this process is Micah 6:8, He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.   (NKJV)

Chapel

Students attend and also take direct responsibility for the planning of regular student-led chapel services. Services include a range of approaches to meet students' spiritual needs.

Leadership Development

Central Academy High School utilizes the servant leadership model for leadership development.   The goal is to develop students who understand, value and exhibit the attributes of a servant leader.   This is accomplished through service learning and other co-curricular activities.
