handwriting mastered before cursive is formally introduced

MIDDLE
SCHOOL
(6th through 8th grade)
Core subjects
taught include: Bible, language arts, social studies,
science and math
Teachers create an environment
for students to successfully master the building blocks
of each subject
All students continue building their knowledge to the
appropriate level before moving ahead
Bible class
focuses on the lives of men and women throughout the
Bible, encouraging students to develop a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ and personal Bible
study habits
Classroom
instruction includes real life situations as learning
tools and hands-on opportunities
Regular
Foreign Language and Physical Education instruction
Students
are continually equipped with critical thinking skills
and the tools needed for a successful high school
experience
HIGH
SCHOOL
(9th through 12th)
Central
Academy's High School offers a challenging program
of study for the college-bound student.
Central
to the academic program is college readiness.
Core programs
of study include English, social studies, science,
mathematics and foreign language. Honors courses
are offered beginning in 10th grade, for qualified
students.
A primary
focus of classroom instruction is on developing critical
thinking skills.
The objective
of the Bible curriculum is to facilitate the development
of students Christian world view and to equip
them with the tools, attitudes and stamina to live
a Christ-centered life during their college years
and beyond.
Elective
courses in health, physical education, life skills,
computing, debate, current events and the visual and
performing arts supplement the core curriculum.
Extracurricular
activities such as Yearbook, Student Publications
Committee (Newspaper or Literary Magazine), Office/Teacher
Assistant, Beta Club, drama and praise band are offered,
along with athletics.
Beginning with the junior year, eligible
students are encouraged to begin college level work
at local community colleges.
